My name is Jo-anne Strachan, I have worked as a complementary therapist for over ten years within a wide range of venues including 5 years working as a therapist at a local hospice, freelance therapist in a spa, nursing homes and gyms, whilst continuously working from a home clinic too. More recently I qualified as a registered nurse (mental health). Over these years I have continued to go on training, adding to the range of therapies I do and also update my skills through continuing professional development (CPD). I hold a further education teaching qualification and taught holistic therapies at a local Further Education for a number of years on a part-time basis before undertaking a nursing course which I completed in February 2006. I have a strong interest in mental health and wellbeing combined with complementary healthcare and hope in the future to do some research in this area.
I am qualified in the following therapies; aromatherapy, bowen technique, reflexology, vodder lymphatic massage, indian head massage, sports massage, hopi ear candling, facials, facial massage, reiki, waxing, sugaring and tinting. I also run classes in stress management and relaxation, massage (inc aromatherapy and indian head) for friends and family and reiki attunements.
